REC-SF playoff brackets

WED 8/25 (1:45AM) -- The Hello Kittys earned the #2 seed by having a stellar regular season, and this Sun 8/29, it pays off. That's because SFFD and Wolverines, being lower seeds, will be forced to play each other first before facing the Hello Kittys in the Losers Bracket. Meanwhile, the entire bracket itself could be altered depending on how the single-elim-status SF Free Agents do against the still-undefeated Bboyz. Should the Bboyz end the dream season of the Free Agents, we could immediately step into a Championship and Repeat on 9/5 and not have to stretch out to 9/12. But of course, we'll see and poll the surviving captains after 8/29's games...

MON 8/16 (11:59PM) -- Looks like we could have the Last Losers Bracket Game and Championship on 9/5, then the Repeat Championship on 9/12. We'll just have to play it by ear, see how everybody feels about that.

REC-SF playoff matchups for 8/15

TUE 8/10 (2:15AM) -- So this past Sun 8/8 with the SF gym problems, we had to split up the first round. That means we have these matchups for 8/15...

The entire playoff schedule has therefore been pushed back one week, which means our Last LB Game and Championship will probably occur on 9/5, with a Repeat Championship on 9/12. Now, 9/5 is Labor Day Weekend, so we'll just have to play it by ear and see if the last three teams can play on that day or not. I'd like to avoid having a Repeat Champ on 9/19, though.

BYES: Byes are only allowable
under special circumstances.
If you have a bye later in the season
that is not a formally requested bye,
due to gym fluctuations and other
unforeseen circumstances, that bye is
not locked down; that week's block
of games can still be shuffled around
as necessary until you formally request
that week to be a bye for your team.

GROUND RULES:
1. Please make sure the number of
red rows (games moved from) equals
the number of green rows (games
moved to).
2. Make sure you have 7 regular
season games listed with your
team name.
3. The last 1 or 2 of 7 regular
season games are usually encoded
as inter-conference or other
special type of matchup.
4. The playoffs are pretty much
nailed down, barring unforeseen
circumstances (i.e., no byes!)
5. Any special late bye requests at
this point will require permission
from other teams to shuffle them
around.
6. Special late bye requests can
*usually* be accommodated if your
team plays a double-header some
other week. But sometimes it
depends on if your opponent is
also stuck with a double-header.

TUE 6/22 (9:00PM) -- Twelve teams, divided into two conferences. Play the first 5 games against your five other in-conference opponents, then the 6th and 7th are cross-conference, based on standings. Pretty straightforward.

No byes. Wolverines already said not having a bye 6/27, they'll deal with it.

Finally, the SF Free Agents forfeited on 6/20 and do not want to pay the forfeit fee, so what I'll do is just cancel the 6/13 matchup vs my team the SF ScoreKeepers, instead of rescheduling that. Both SFFA and SFSK will therefore end up with 6 regular season games.
