Our Situation
(6/2) Our Summer 2010 season is just a few weeks away. We are ONLY having a AAA season this summer as we run a "mini" light season. Our weeknight gym is not available this summer so we are keeping things small on purpose.More info

(6/2) Nothing is guaranteed unless you register your team and commit with your team fee. The sooner you get this done, the sooner it's set in stone.

(6/2) Please check all FAQs before emailing us a question.

(6/2) Check out ways to play at a discount (depending on your commitment level), such as blogging/twittering/facebooking about your division, writing game stories, taking photos, shooting and editing video, or being a stats-guru!... More info
More Notes from the Commish

EXPRESS REGISTRATION:

  1. Pay in full for your team's entry into the league (see payment button on the right column). DON'T FORGET TO SPECIFY YOUR TEAM NAME IN THE SHIP-TO ADDRESS!

  2. Register your team's captain, roster, and preferences.

  3. After registering your team, please email that you have to: brian(at)dreamleague(dot)org.

  4. All players who have not done so in the past must submit an ONLINE WAIVER. Then await confirmation email from league office.

START DATES: Pow-wow with your team, then precisely enter information when you register your team.
  • We will be tipping off the season on Sun 6/20. Games for this summer will ONLY be on Sunday afternoons.

PAYMENT DEADLINES:
  • We are strictly enforcing a pay to play policy. You must pay in full up front in order to guarantee your team a spot in the division of your choice. No down payments, no lay-away plans, no paying at the end of the season! If another team willing to pay can do so and you can't, you may lose your spot once a division is filled.

  • If you choose to pay on your team's first game day, we will inform you of how that is looking as far as your still being able to hold a spot. Payment is due by your first game of the season. NO EXCEPTIONS.

END DATES: Expected to be sometime in late August/early September barring any gym closures or other unforeseen scenarios.
  • There will be 6 regular season games. Note, this is a "mini" season we are specially holding for the summer. It is smaller and shorter than our regular multi-division, 8-game seasons.

  • Holidays and big tournaments are usually league-wide byes:

    • July 4th Weekend

  • Schedules can morph or be extended according to majority team availabilities and unforeseen circumstances with gym constraints (this nearly always happens each season.)

COMMISSIONER'S MESSAGES:
  • (6/2) Hey DL gang, this summer, we are hosting a mini-summer league that is catering only for the AAA guys. Sorry NL, sorry AL, you will have to wait till we get back at it in the Fall.

  • (6/2) As usual, the AAA is designed for teams who have at least two starters who did or could have played on their high school varsity team, or at least most of the players have experience playing in organized leagues. No mega-impact players are allowed on a team.

  • (6/2) Schedule - games will start on 6/20. We are capping this season at 8 teams tops. We want to have a smoother overall schedule and so that means getting your team in early to ensure a spot. If you are borderline towards the end in signing up, we may not be able to accommodate you if a division is filled up. For more questions, please contact brian(at)dreamleague(dot)org.

  • (6/2) In order to keep the divisions more clearly stratified, as always, we restrict teams in the lower division from having more than 3 players in the top 7 in scoring on their respective teams in a higher division (AAA to AL). They cannot be in the top 7 of scoring for their previous season or for the current season all the way through the playoffs. There seems to be confusion over this rule each and every season, so if you are not sure, please ask the league. The league brass will be strictly enforcing this rule.

  • (6/2) Here are some very important logistical issues for this season.

    1. We do our best to grant all schedule requests, but may not be able to fulfill all of them (but we're usually very good and have not disappointed yet), so it's best your team is ready to play on any of the game days. If this is a huge problem, you may be best served in not committing to a season. For those requests, please get them into us early! (Will repeat this point again - does anyone ever read this area?)

    2. Get your team's weekly tipoff preferences in early! Scheduling this many teams is a very complex process. You should see what the war room looks like each season we go through this process. It ain't pretty. Get your data in early and chances are you'll get what you want. We aim to please. Please email these preferences to the DL' schedule maker Jae at: jae(at)dreamleague(dot)org

    3. All players must complete an ONLINE WAIVER if they have not done so in the past, otherwise they will not be allowed to step foot on the court.

  • (6/2) The only thing that guarantees your team is playing is via the online payments. It's a first pay-first served policy. REPEAT: The only thing that guarantees your team is playing is via the online payments. If you wish to take your chances and pay on the first day, we'll update you as far as whether there will be spots available for your team to do so. Those paid in full up front won't have to worry about this! Simple as that.

  • (6/2) Many of you are taking advantage of this. Good for you! Exciting ways to PLAY FOR FREE (or at a discount, depending on your level of commitment), such as blogging (or social networking) about your division, taking photos, writing stories, creating video, or being a statmonger!... More info

  • (6/2) IMPORTANT - DEADLINE FOR FREE AGENT SIGN UP IS FRIDAY June 18th!!!! We tip off on Sun June 20th. If you are a free agent without a team to play on, we will try to place you on a team who needs you depending on their needs, your position, and what division you best belong in. We can make no promises with the FA route, but we try.

  • (6/20) Team Entry Fees Payment Page is NOW OPEN! Go to the Payment Page. Remember, it's first come, first served.

  • (6/20) Rumour Mill to come. Give us some juicy gossip!
