AL-P Playoff Brackets (final)
Wildcards = Spurs of DL?
AUGUST 19, 2007 -- Another two or three seasons in dreamleague, another championship by the Wildcards aka East Bay Cardinals. I've lost count now and maybe someone out there has the time to click around the old seasons at the bottom of our homepage, but this has to be maybe the fifth dreamleague championship coach Jones Wu has won for the Wildcards or East Bay Cardinals. With the sage at the helm, you've got to consider them the Spurs of dreamleague Bay Area... More info
Wildcards take control of bracket
AUGUST 12, 2007 -- Vannack Phann scored 13 of his 21 points in the 2nd quarter to lead a 26-4 assault against Green Light, seizing a 38-18 halftime lead that would not be relinquished. The loss sent Green Light to the Losers Bracket, where they will have to face the Prodigies for the right to face the Wildcards again in the championship... More info
Clawing for survival in the dungeon
AUGUST 9, 2007 -- See Bird's Eye page. This Sunday, the Prodigies, Bomb Squad, Built For Comfort, and Ballaz By Law will battle for survival in the Losers Bracket dungeon. Meanwhile, the Wildcards and Green Light square off for a huge Winners Bracket advantage heading into the Final Three.
A battle of last season's elimination showdown between BBL and the Prodigies, which the Prodigies won about 4 months ago. Then it's smallish BFC against biggish Bomb Squad. Then the winners of both games. And can the well-coached guards of the Wildcards overcome the shoot-from-the-hip backcourt of Green Light? How about the Prabe Bolaria vs Bill Truong matchup down low?
Recaps from 8/5... More info (UPDATED 8/10 2:00PM)
Big matchups this weekend 8/5
AUGUST 2, 2007 -- Check the Bird's Eye link for tipoffs. Instead of going into too many detailed yet wonderful mano-y-mano matchups we'll see on the court this weekend, I thought it would be a far better use of my time to simply make some shoot-from-the-hip predictions. Green Light will beat BBL as Vince Chooi scores 30+, but still chalk Adam Blightman up for 25 too. The Wildcards will beat Bomb Squad in overtime on a game-winning shot by either Johnson Bui or Vannack Phann, but Derrel Young will give Bill Truong fits on the boards. Rome Olmpiada gets his. Bomb Squad will grind it, but even despite Bomb Squad's recent squeakers, the Wildcards seem to be more clutch. The Prodigies are mad that they're in the Losers Bracket. This does not bode well for Syuhn Fung. Prodigies by 12. Quentin Wu gets ejected for being too frustrated by the play of Sean Caiola. Cali grinds it out and somehow pulls off the victory over BFC. Nick Loy will get a putback rebound to win it at the buzzer. Well, even if I'm wrong, either team will get blown out by the Outlaws, who will take out the frustration of their 5-point 4th quarter against Green Light on the poor victim. Daniel Gusner easily gets 20-and-12.
AL-P division-wide bye for 7/29
JULY 24, 2007 -- As you can see on the Bird's Eye page, there are no games scheduled for AL-P this Sunday 7/29 due to the Tahoe tournament. We resume on 8/5.
With more upsets, #1 seeds fall
JULY 24, 2007 -- W#4 Bomb Squad and W#5 Green Light, which would normally be the equivalent of a #7 and a #9 seed at best, respectively, sent the #1-seeded Prodigies and Outlaws to the Losers Bracket with big upsets. E#3 Ballaz By Law also made it to the next round in the Winners Bracket, so it's like we have #3, #5, #7, and #9 seeds duking it out in the Winners Bracket. In the Losers Bracket, the low seeds have to play against each other for the right to face the mighty Outlaws (check the Playoff Bracket link above), while last season's runner-up, Syuhn Fung, will need to avoid a relatively early exit against the perenially contending Prodigies. Here are the recaps from 7/22... More info
Tipoffs for 7/22 posted
JULY 19, 2007 -- Click on the Bird's Eye link above. Pretty cool matchups. Green Light at Outlaws: Can youngster Prabe Bolaria outduel Daniel Gusner and will there be a matchup of Bowen-like defender Yuki Yamazaki on Iverson-like Vince Chooi? Ballaz By Law at Syuhn Fung: Who will score and disrupt more, Adam Blightman or Quentin Wu? Bomb Squad at Prodigies: The last team to beat the Prodigies was Bomb Squad. Can the uptempo Prodigies keep the traditional big-man set of Bomb Squad on their heels? They better, because Bomb Squad is rebounding like freaks and Rome Olmpiada has been collecting more assists this season. Wildcards at Built For Comfort: Will BFC get their backcourt neutralized by the well-coached Wildcards? Will the Wildcards exploit their inside advantage? Cali Xpress at Kurruption: Which big men will be better: Mark Scates and Derek Finney or Nick Loy and John Carrillo? Or will it come down to a trey by Adam Aquino or Anthony Tirona?
Btw, we're still working hard on the stats, even though it seems like we're not. We're pretty far behind, but remain committed to getting them all done by championships, when there are fewer games to input.
Matchups for 7/22 posted
JULY 17, 2007 (6:00PM) -- Check the Bird's Eye and the AL-P Playoff Bracket links above. It's a pretty straightforward, intuitive bracket. The only quirk was that Built For Comfort has homecourt advantage over the Wildcards because they had the same regular season record and BFC beat out Wildcards on the common opponents tiebreaker, which ended up being the games between Shohoku (both teams defeated) and Cali Xpress (BFC beat, but Wildcards lost to).
Built For Comfort needs to pay for the 9th spot in full, including late fees, before tipoff otherwise they will forfeit the game. Recaps from 7/8
JULY 17, 2007 -- Recaps from 7/8 have been posted. Next up: scores from 7/15 later Tuesday, a stats update on where we are on Wednesday, and recaps from 7/15 on Thursday, at least that's the plan... More info
T-shirts being distributed
JULY 17, 2007 -- Over the past 3 weeks, we have been distributing the new t-shirts. Props go to Ky Truong of TheOcho in AAA-P for the design and Starfish, owned by the uncle of AAA-P Frosh Tryouts' Calvin Ma, for giving us the usual friendly prices. Thanks to those of you who submitted your designs. We had to pick something quick and didn't really have time to consider all the other ideas that came in. We're still looking for an Oaktown design for the future, btw... More info
If your team has not received their t-shirts yet, please let us know, just in case. We still have more t-shirts to distribute per gym logistics and where you happen to be this Sunday, but we don't want to keep missing you.
Anyone who wants a t-shirt and was not scheduled to get one due to late or non-Internet payments will have to wait until all of the t-shirts are distributed first, so we can see what we got left over. You will have to reimburse us $5 for the cost of the t-shirt. We don't plan to print more t-shirts of our previous designs until next season, which will start the 3rd week of September, after our Vegas tourneys.
Tipoffs for 7/15 posted
JULY 12, 2007 -- Check the Bird's Eye page for tipoffs. Two very evenly matched teams in Jumpmen vs Big Gamerz, but the winner has to face Built For Comfort, which is composed of NL Game Time's backcourt. The SF Suns either break their funk or go home against Cali Xpress, with the winner to face a GreenLight team that is an offshoot of last season's champion Up In Smoke, a team that has been picking up momentum. Shohoku, which last season ran as the AAA-E champion Piston Hondas, meets up with archrival Purefoods, the other team that moved up from AAA-E. The winner of that one faces Ballaz By Law.
Matchups for 7/15 playoffs posted
JULY 10, 2007 -- Check the Bird's Eye page for 7/18 matchups. Because of the NL Game Time at AL-E Rayguns game targeted for Redwood City (or San Mateo), I decided to move the SF Suns, Cali Xpress, and Green Light, as well as Jumpmen, Big Gamerz, and Built For Comfort to San Mateo.
This will make logistics a bit easier on the Game Time players who also play on the SF Suns and Built For Comfort. Incidentally, the Suns, Cali, Purefoods, and Shohoku need to contact the league office to resolve their disparate tipoff preferences. And we need an indication from Jumpmen that they will not be forfeiting their third game this Sunday.
Incidentally, Built For Comfort is officially behind on a payment and will forfeit if they forget once again to pay before tipoff on 7/15. I highly recommend that more than one person on that team brings their checkbook, just in case.
Anyhow, some intriguing opening round playoff matchups, such as Purefoods vs Shohoku, a battle of East/West rivals previously from AAA-Elite. The Jumpmen, Big Gamerz, and Built For Comfort bracket seems very evenly matched. Kurruption and Bomb Squad also have similar halfcourt styles, while Team Dynasty just needs to get 8 guys for once. The East and West's #1 and #2 seeds get the week off, as they earned their top billing... More info

JULY 6, 2007 -- Recaps have been posted... More info
JULY 5, 2007 -- Hope everyone had a great July 4th. I'm still gonna try to do recaps from 7/1, but because I've meant to do this the past two weeks and haven't come through, I can't make any promises. Besides, we're getting a little even further behind on stats, so I might just spend all of Friday on stats and hope that nothing comes up the rest of today for recaps. In the meantime, let's take a look at this week's interesting matchups... More info
Matchups for 7/8 posted
JULY 4, 2007 -- I haven't looked at the season schedule in awhile and didn't realize that I had previously published a two-tier first round of the playoffs. I might stick with that, actually, so please disregard the previous comment below about a straight 16-team bracket.
JULY 3, 2007 -- On the Bird's Eye page, the matchups for 7/8 have been posted. It's the 8th and final regular season game for the teams that haven't reached 8 games yet. Looks like a huge two games for Big Gamerz, which needs to sweep on Sunday to reach the .500 double-elimination status plateau. They play two games because they took a bye last weekend vs Outlaws, which also wanted a bye. They will square off this Sunday in interconference against Green Light and Syuhn Fung, then square off against each other in the same gym.
We had to have most of the games in SF due to gym issues. Purefoods vs SF Suns will probably be in Oakland because we rely heavily on Purefoods for scorekeeping there. BFC asked for a late tipoff and the only way that can be accommodated is if their game against Cali is in Oakland.
The following teams need to pay for spots on 7/8: Big Gamerz, Green Light, Built For Comfort, Cali Xpress, and Purefoods.
Looking ahead to the playoffs, it will be a straight 16-team bracket, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Tipoffs for 7/1 posted, roster slots
JUNE 28, 2007 -- Tipoffs for 7/1 have been posted. The following teams need to pay for a roster slot before tipoff, otherwise it's an automatic forfeit: Ballaz By Law, Built For Comfort, Cali Xpress, Prodigies, and Team Dynasty. Check the update Payment Registry link above for details. Also, Big Gamerz asked for a bye this Sun 7/1 and their opponent, the Outlaws, were amenable, thus creating a doubleheader for both teams on 7/8... More info
Matchups for 7/1, schedule tweaks
REMINDER FOR PLAYOFF ROSTERS: If your team has only 8 roster slots paid, no more than 8 players and those 8 players ONLY are allowed to show up for your game. If you need an extra roster slot available for the playoffs, you will need to contact the league office.
JUNE 26, 2007 -- Matchups for 7/1 (but not tipoffs yet) have been posted on the Bird's Eye page. Also, the Payment Registry has been updated. Finally, we made some tweaks to the remaining schedule because Shohoku asked for a bye on 7/1 and Bomb Squad asked for a bye on 7/8... More info
Tipoffs for 6/24 posted
JUNE 21, 2007 -- First off, a reminder to the following teams that need to keep pace on payments this weekend: Big Gamerz 1 slot, Green Light 1 slot, Prodigies 1 slot, and Team Dynasty 1 slot.
We got some big matchups this weekend. How about Syuhn Fung vs Prodigies? If Quentin Wu can withstand the onslaught of Barry Lee and Sean Caiola, it's time to start thinking MVP (oh, but we don't give out MVPs in AL-P, oh well) -- kinda like including Tony Parker in the regular NBA season MVP talks, which will probably start happening next year. Kurruption vs Team Dynasty: One team will be saddled with single-elim playoff status afterwards and how ironic it comes down to the ex-Kurruption guys like Alvin Chua and Rodney Campbell versus new Kurruption. Cali Xpress vs Outlaws: Can't wait to see who wins the battle down low, Daniel Gusner, BJ Kang and Jin Kim, or Nick Loy, John Carillo and Mario Formosa? Purefoods vs Big Gamerz: One team will be saddled with single-elim, but both still clawing their way out of the basement. Wildcards vs Ballaz By Law: Huge game for BBL against the well-coached and balanced Wildcards. Built For Comfort vs Bomb Squad: Bomb Squad is on a roll. It's the guards of BFC vs the big men of Bomb. Warriors vs Utah. Jumpmen vs GreenLight: Jumpmen's got their backs against the wall, trying to do the same to GreenLight. SF Suns vs Shohoku: One of these strugglers will get stuck in the basement due to the head-to-head.
Outlawz, Cali keep pace with Wildcards
JUNE 20, 2007 -- Matchups for 6/24 have been posted (see Bird's Eye link above), but I'm working on tipoffs all day today. Here are some recaps from 6/20. Btw, remember I promised to do recaps from 6/3 and 6/10? Well, that ain't happenin' anymore, esp. after how long it took me to do 6/20 recaps... More info
3 teams risk auto-forfeit this Sun 6/17
JUNE 15, 2007 -- See Payment Registry link above. Kurruption's 6th game is coming and only 4 5 roster slots have been paid for. The Prodigies' and Team Dynasty's 6th games are coming up and only 5 roster slots have been paid for.
Tipoffs for 6/17 posted
JUNE 14, 2007 (9:00AM) -- Click on the Bird's Eye View link above. Next up: update of Payment Registry page (it's currently only updated thru 6/9) and any necessary auto-forfeit warning notices, the long-overdue quickie recaps from 6/3 and quickies from 6/10 as well. Green Light already played Syuhn Fung and Jumpmen against Built For Comfort, so those 4 teams have a bye this Sun 6/17.
Thus far, if you look at the STANDINGS page, only 1 team (Shohoku) is mathematically destined for single-elim status in the playoffs, but the other teams all have important balance-shifting games this weekend, except for Jumpmen with the aforementioned bye. Toughest matchups: Team Dynasty needing to pull it together with a very talented lineup against a very well-coached Wildcards, Purefoods at 1-3 having to travel to a feisty Ballaz By Law squad, and the SF Suns having to matchup against the pissed off and non-doubleheader-playing Prodigies, which lost to Bomb Squad in a close one last week.
Stacks-o-stats, Payments, T-shirts
JUNE 13, 2007 -- STATS UPDATE: This past weekend's stack of scoresheets is mighty THICK. Reminder: you guys have to have perfectly filled out lineups -- including guys who show up late who must report their number and full name to the table DURING A DEAD BALL SITUATION -- and all players must have already submitted an online waiver, otherwise your team's stats will be skipped and who knows when we'll get to it because of our cakes on a never-ending conveyor belt. I keep seeing such holes in scoresheets maybe once out of every 8. So if your stats aren't up, that could be a very good reason why.
Btw, I just finished hand-compiling the 6/3 stats and the remaining ones from 5/20. Those will get turned from paper into website by our statcrew pretty soon. Also, stats prior to that should be 100% complete (except for teams fitting the above description) by this Friday, according to our last remaining straggling statcrew teenager.
PAYMENT UPDATE: According to the Payment Registry, most teams seem to be on track. For those of you making it by week by week, just know that the player fees continue to go up by $1 each week that passes.
T-SHIRT UPDATE: We currently have a handful of dreamleaguers submitting some ideas for t-shirts. We'll figure that out no later than next week. One thing I might have to do: it appears that costs have gone up and the only way to keep my estimates on par is to order all one design (the t-shirt business is weird). So we'll just go with the new design. Because we want this design to be right, maybe we'll put the handful of suggestions up for vote by the end of the week. That means t-shirts won't be ready until probably the 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, and 7/22 games (they can't all be distributed in one week...it's a drip process).
What refs rule on-the-spot holds
JUNE 12, 2007 -- Here's a chance for all divisions to learn from what transpired in the AAA-P recently. It's a reinforcement of whatever refs rule on-the-spot is pretty much what we have to go with... More info
SQHM game moved to CSMX for 6/10
JUNE 8, 2007 -- Team Dynasty and Ballaz By Law, please check the Bird's Eye View link above for details.
T-shirts: we need new hoop fashion sense
JUNE 7, 2007 -- Click on the Bird's Eye link above, as tipoffs for 6/10 have been posted.
While I've got your attention, let me know if anybody wants to design our new t-shirt coming up. Which means, for those who have been asking, t-shirts won't be available for another 2 weeks (but remember, it's a long season). I'll try to get some of the old designs ordered right away, but of course I need to tally those up first -- which means no more stats entries for several days. Anyways, I digress...
For the first time in years, I took a stroll thru Niketown last week and noticed how not-in-fashion we might be w.r.t. our t-shirts. Things tend to get that way when you turn 36 and have a little 2-year-old to look after. This whole "retro 70's" thing and those colorful (read: ugly) Air Force Ones -- I don't get it. How I long for the days when hoops defined fashion, not the other way around. Ah, the Revolution, the original Haurache, Air Maestros, the Pippens that fit like a sock but weren't called Pippens, when people were too respectful of MJ and didn't wear Jordans unless they were clearly the best player on the court, blah blah blah...I oughtta write a blogpost about this on dreamblogue.
So if there's anybody out there who wants 10 free t-shirts for their whole team (as payment for your assistance and on top of any t-shirts you already get for on-time payments...or if you work yourself to the bone on this new t-shirt design, OK, maybe 20 t-shirts?!!), let me know. The catch: it's gotta have some rendition of our logo and, of course, the words "Dream League". Also, sure would be nice to appease the Oaktown folks this time around, since last time we already made "San Francisco" ones.
Matchups for 6/10 posted, tipoffs soon
JUNE 6, 2007 -- Click on the Bird's Eye link above for the latest and greatest. Don't forget to check the Payment Registry, although it hasn't been updated since 6/2, but at least you know what you owe if you didn't pay anything this past weekend. Next on the to-do list for this week: More stats inputting.
The long, arduous path of your stats
JUNE 5, 2007 -- (I've never really been pestered by anyone in the AL, but...) Here are some frequently asked questions about stats. If you've seen this in a reply email to you, don't take it personal. We're just trying to educate everyone on how stats work... More info
And if you're on the list AL-P players without online waivers submitted, chances are your stats are not going up anytime soon, although we will try to get them done before the season is over.
Fair warning to Cali, Bomb, GrnL, Kurr and Suns
MAY 30, 2007 (12:00PM) -- There are no games this Sun 6/3, but on 6/10 Cali Xpress, Bomb Squad, GreenLight, Kurruption, and the SF Suns will need to catch up on their payments (see Payment Registry), otherwise we will forfeit those teams at tipoff. Unfortunately, the track record of the other 8 divisions does not allow me to offer any leeway on this. So if you snooze, you lose, simple as that.
Leaguewide bye issued for AL-P for 6/3
MAY 26, 2007 (8:00AM) -- Because every game originally scheduled on 6/3 is affected by either the Drakes or Showtime tourney, we are going to call 6/3 a leaguewide bye and move the entire season back one week... More info

Quickies from 5/20
MAY 24, 2007 (8:00AM) -- Here are some quick recaps from 5/20... The Outlaws outlasted the Ballaz By Law by the score of 57-50 with a blitz of 27 points in the 4th quarter compared to 16 by BBL...However in the fourth quarter the difference may have been Jin Kim and Kevin Wong each going 3-for-3 with Wong nailing two from downtown...Daniel Gusner had 16 points...Adam Blightman led BBL, sparking them with 10 points in the first half but finishing with just 17 points including a 4th quarter in which he shot 1-for-7 from the field...BBL started the fourth quarter shooting blanks until 5:40 remaining and then didn't score again for a long time, as they were at approximately 1-for-15 in shooting until a late surge that came up too short... Rome Olmpiada, despite running in the Bay to Breakers earlier in the day, led a Bomb Squad victory over Jumpmen by the score of 66-54...Olmpiada went just 8-for-26 from the field but he made 5 three pointers...RG Mangahas led Jumpmen with 14 points, but all of them were in the first half...Jumpmen went cold in the second half as they combined to go just 1-for-9 from downtown in the second half... The Prodigies, a heavily loaded team, walloped Green Light...Ryan Cruz had 19 points and Barry Lee was dishing out assists left and right...Manny Manuel 16 points in defeat for GreenLight...Dan Matsumura scored 12 of his eventual 20 points in the first half... Built For Comfort manhandled Shohoku...Dave Peng led the charge with 18 points and Johnny Liu had 20...Junius Ho had 22 points in defeat for Shohoku.
AL-P mid-season outlook
MAY 18, 2007 (2:00PM) -- In the East, the Wildcards are playing like the well-coached team that they are. Coach Jones Wu lost 4 all-stars from the NL version, but retains anchor-in-the-middle Andrew Lee and point guard Johnson Bui... More info
Tipoffs for 5/20 posted
MAY 17, 2007 (4:30PM) -- The tipoffs for 5/20 were posted this morning. Check the Bird's Eye link above. 5/20 seems to be a popular bye week request for a lot of the East teams. The Outlaws vs Ballaz By Law game this Sun 5/20 is actually a makeup game from 5/6 when BBL needed a bye. Kurruption also wanted a bye, but their opponent Cali Xpress didn't want it because it would've resulted in too many games off, as Cali has only played 2 games thus far. So it will be a depleted Kurruption vs Cali this Sun 5/20.
So anyways, a bunch of these games have been moved to the makeup weekend on 6/24, which is the week before the last regular season game of interconference matchups. In the West for 5/20, Syuhn Fung needed a bye, so its matchup vs the SF Suns got moved to the makeup weekend of 6/24. The rest of the West looks pretty normal for this Sun 5/20. I hope to have this all spelled out on the Season Schedule article soon.
Win Gatorade, donate 15 minutes this Saturday
MAY 16, 2007 (3:00PM) -- Join us this Saturday, May 19 from 10am onwards at the Asian Heritage Street Celebration. We will have our own booth (donated by AsianWeek) where you can shoot mini-hoops and win what will probably be coveted bottles of Gatorade, if the weather is hot.
If you want to drop by and help give Commish a little break from manning the booth, that would be greatly appreciated, too. Btw, we're there to promote our Beijing 2008 Olympics tour/tourney... More info
Suspensions levied for taunting
MAY 16, 2007 (8:00AM) -- Players and fans on AAA-Elite teams Hyphy and Second To None were levied suspensions by the league office for altercations stemming from taunting. Luckily, an outright fight was avoided. Meanwhile, the REC-Oak Spartans team is currently under investigation for taunting... More info
Now's also a good time to remind you that we have a Rasheed Wallace rule, too. The moment any player accrues 4 technical fouls for unsportsmanlike conduct, that player will automatically receive a one-game suspension.
Cut out the player-to-player chatter
MAY 15, 2007 (8:00AM) -- Scores from 5/13 are going up as we speak. We still plan to update the Season Schedules and do a midseason preview now that a few games are under our belt. Stats are going up slowly and 5/13 was finally a week where we had our regular staff and, thus, good scoresheets which will make 5/13 stats go up more smoothly.
While we wait for this content, please be remind that in dreamleague, you are strictly forbidden from instigating any sort of inflammatory chatter with an opposing player. Normally, we call this the "taunting" rule, but our experience tells us that many of you do not really know what "taunting" means. You may think that saying, "Shoot the ball" is trivial to your opponent, but your opponent might not because if he makes the shot, he's going to say something back at you. And yes, we think it's your fault for instigating it in the first place. As written in our RULES & REGULATIONS, taunting is an automatic ejection.
If you are caught as a recipient of instigation and the ref is not aware of the chatter going on, the protocol is to tell the ref about it and if you don't think he's handling it, burn a timeout and have your captain call me on cellphone immediately.
Tipoffs for 5/13 Posted
MAY 10, 2007 (8:00AM) -- See Bird's Eye link above. Here are some scheduling quirks for 5/13...
- GrnL playing back-to-back with its AAA-P team was unavoidable. At least we met the constrained tipoff timeframe.
- BFC is playing at 6pm and its usual requested timeframe is 12p-5p. This was unavoidable due to the gym constraints.
- Kurr travels to BBL at SMHS. As previously mentioned and will be detailed soon, each team in the East will travel once during the regular season to meet BBL.
- Pure had its usual extreme constraints, but Outl agreed to go a little earlier than its usual timeframe to accommodate.
- BGmz requested 3pm, the outer edge of Dynasty's requested usual timeframe.
Meanwhile, you should see stats dating back to 4/15 start to trickle in in the next few days, as they are mostly in the hands of our teenage online statcrew after a grueling few weeks of setting up the teams with the right player names in the database.
We ask that you continue to provide team names and full names of players, including those who show up late, each week at your game. Make sure everyone on your team has submitted an ONLINE WAIVER at some point, especially if they are new to dreamleague. Any small omission can cause the greatest of delays in getting stats inputted.
Matchups for 5/13 Posted, Tipoffs Soon
MAY 9, 2007 (1:30PM) -- The matchups for 5/13 have been posted. Click on the Bird's Eye View link above. Specific tipoff times will be posted by tomorrow, but you can get a sense of where and what time your team will be playing by looking at the preferences of your team and your opponent's on the Bird's Eye page.
Being proactive about tipoff timeframes
MAY 8, 2007 (8:00AM) -- Perhaps it's not immediately evident, but there's a lot you can do to not only get the tipoff timeframe you want, but be able to better predict what time your game will be this upcoming Sunday, if you can't wait until... More info
Commish is currently working feverishly on: (1) Posting scores from 5/6, (2) Scheduling 5/13, (3) Posting updates on your Season Schedule page, (4) Posting updates on your Season Preview page, (5) Inputting stats not already being handled by our stats manager Mark Chin and his teenage stat crew, and (6) Updating the Payments Registry page. Try not to bug him unless it's painfully urgent!
Stats: You do your part, we'll do ours
MAY 4, 2007 (8:00AM) -- The first few weeks might be the most crucial parts of the stats process. You see, we have to punch in your rosters correctly first. Then we can go robotic and feed scoresheets (assuming they are taken down correctly by the handful of people who will end up touching them) to our kids from the YMCA, etc., to punch in.
So you just simply, absolutely, unequivocally gotta do your part right. Otherwise we might have to hold off on your stats because we can't figure out who you are... More info
Tipoffs for 5/6 Posted
MAY 3, 2007 (2:30PM) -- See Bird's Eye link above. BBL wanted a bye 5/6, so their matchup for this weekend vs Outlaws, which also has at least one player in the Sac tourney this weekend, was moved to 5/20. Both Prodigies and Built For Comfort have players in the Sac tourney, so their matchup on 5/6 was moved to the makeup weekend of 6/24.
Next week, I'll update the Season Schedule article to show these matchups that have been moved to accommodate bye requests and the like. Other than the above, 5/6 seems like a pretty normal week of matchups. We're setting up the teams with player names from our database and stats should be going up next week. Be sure to spell your names and DON'T FORGET TO WRITE YOUR TEAM NAME on the scoresheets!
Looking ahead to 5/6 and 5/13 (and 6/17)
