Fob Five 92, Syuhn Fung 40

Fob Five Takes Advantage of 4-Man Syuhn

DECEMBER 5, 2004 -- In another statpadding situation, #21 Syuhn Fung had only four available players and fell victim to intra-conference #12 Fob Five. Johnny Liu led Fob Five with 15 pts on 5 treys while Darien Tung added 14. Yih-Wei Chien had 11 pts 12 reb on a bad ankle. Jonathan Chen led Syuhn with 16 and Kevin Lee had 13 pts 10 reb.

Syuhn Fung ended its nightmare season with a disappointing 1-and-8 mark. It all started with the defection of star forward Ed Pan to Touchless due to unforeseen geographical constraints. In doing so, Syuhn sacrificed itself by being placed in San Mateo and could not keep up with the likes of Fob Five, Hoopwear, and Alliance. The team did manage a win against SF's ARMY, but lost again with a depleted lineup to the Oskis. Then as the #21 seed, it got the unlucky draw of #12 Fob Five, so Syuhn never got a chance to really play the field, seeing only five different opponents during the year. Still, without Pan, it was a dubious situation from the get-go. Karma is sure to come around next season as they try to recoup Pan from the stacked Touchless squad in the re-aligned AL.

Fob Five advanced to face the #5 Newcomers.
