Quick and Dirty Rundown of AAA
OCTOBER 9, 2004 -- Here's a quick and dirty rundown of what the AAA has in store. Basically, it's up for grabs. But the serious bettor should put his money on Alum, a team which paid its dues heavily the last two seasons in the AL and finally decided to drop down to AAA. They're one of those gray-area teams, as Touchless might be for AL and NL. They've certainly got the skills and size to do some damage in the AAA.
But don't count out BTU, Flying Elephants, Franchise, the young T.L Bombers and SFFD in the North. We don't know much about 24 Hour, but we know that it's always a challenge for the Free Agent team, and the Big Gamerz, Scrub Club, and Mom's Friends have struggled out of the gate and may be scratching and clawing for those last double-elimination seeds (top 8).
In the South, you have Ryusei returning from their summer break. They've got to be the favorite and wouldn't we all like to see a Ryusei vs Alum showdown? Then again, let's not get too ahead of ourselves, because you never know. DFB was right up there against Fob Five and Alliance last season, and those two latter teams moved up to AL. BTR is tough, but can they put some chemistry together? Same thing with Hi-OcTane. Then you have the unpredictable and young FC Flyers. Who knows. HHH looks more comfortable in the AAA and the SkyDragons are totally unknown, as is WKYA. T-One is fka Token Asian Guy and they have struggled in the past, so look for some improvement this go-round. And don't you dare count out the Free Agents Peninsula. You're always in the game when you have vets Dave Shu and Mike Little handling the rock. They may surprise a few and then some.
All in all, logic tells us it's going to be Ryusei, DFB, or Alum, but it would be no big surprise if a different team emerges out of the rubble! Remember that only the top 8 teams out of 21 get double-elimination status. | Score by Quarters | Team | Q1 | Q2 | Q3 | Q4 | OT | Total |
