 Oh Holla! 68, Retros 28 |
J. Lee's J Leads Oh Holla! |
| Jason Lee went into last night's game struggling to find his rhythm after a long lay off during the summer from basketball. Lee spent the summer focussed on his start up company while letting his game sit on the backburner of life. Lee's sweet stroke found the hoop last night as he went 5-9 from the field and 6-8 from the line to finish with 17 points to help Oh Holla! remain perfect at 3-0 with a 68-28 shellacking of the Retros (0-3).
Oh Holla! jumped out to a 25-10 lead after the first period as Lee single handedly matched the Retros with 10 of his own points. Stan Yeung notched 6 points in the quarter as he started to accumulate on his game high assist total (6).
The lead subsequently grew after each quarter as Oh Holla! outscored the Retros in each frame. Oh Holla! had its best offensive output of the season, shooting 46% from the field (27-59) - by far their best percentage on the young season.
Yeung finished the game with 10 points, 6 boards, 3 thefts, and the aforementioned 6 dimes. If there was any question as to how his all-around West Coast "showtime" game would fit into an East Coast system, it has been answered. Ken Kim struggled a bit with his shot, but tallied 12 points (3-12 from trey-land), 6 boards, and 3 steals. Guard John Lee (Jason's older bro) also notched 3 steals as Oh Holla! had 12 as a team.
The Retros had too many turnovers (19) and not enough field goals in the game right from the start. The addition of 6'5" "Immovable Force" Frank Chiu did little to help turn the tide as the team continues to try to find more offensive threats outside of Ed Shimizu and Francis Ok. Shimizu notched a double double with a pair of 10's (10 pts, 10 boards). Ok had 9 points and 2 picks, but outside of this duo, there was no reliable scoring source as no one had more than 3 points. Chiu and Sang Lee assisted Shimizu in the rebounding column with 5 boards a piece. | Score by Quarters | Team | Q1 | Q2 | Q3 | Q4 | OT | Total |
