| AAA-South Matchups for 6/13 Set
JUNE 8, 2004 -- First of all, the stats will be up shortly. The AAA-South matchups have been determined via the standings. We have put the Fob Five vs Alliance game in Oakland, which is only a 2-mile difference as compared to traveling to an SF gym such as St. Mary's. This was due to the fact that the Free Agents have played the last two games away from Palo Alto, and one of their main players is from Morgan Hill, and despite the fact that their opponent, the Maestros, have only played one non-Palo Alto game. Also, we figured that either Fob Five or Alliance would hold a top seed going into the playoffs and thus earn a home game or two in Palo Alto to start the playoffs. One interesting thing to note is that BTR will face Token Asian Guy two weeks in a row. This is not only due to the AAA-South's matchups based on standings for the 6/13 games, but also the two teams have to makeup a game postponed from earlier in the season. It will be weird playing the same team two weeks in a row, but that's how the math turned out! Please note that 6/20 will be filled with makeup games, but we will also start one or two inter-conference games that weekend due to the Flying Elephants' and Fob Five's requests for byes on 7/11, which is slated to be a pure inter-conference weekend. In fact, we may just have the Flying Elephants go against Fob Five on 6/20, but don't quote us on that just yet. Inter-conference games will also be determined by standings placement. Captains have already been queried about any geographical constraints. For example, the Big Gamerz have some players driving down from Vallejo, so we'll likely keep them in SF as long as we can unless the playoffs hit and they have to play against a high seed from the South. With these constraints/flexibilities in mind and if the first four games are any indication, we'll probably have inter-conference matchups in Palo Alto on 6/27 with the Ballers at Alliance and DFB at Fob Five or BTR, but again we'll just have to see how the standings turn out. Incidentally, because there are only 6 teams in the South, some of the SF teams will be playing against other SF teams during the "inter-conference" weekends. We will ensure that these matchups have not been seen yet, since mathematically not every SF team out of nine will have played against another during the first six games.
