JUNE 13, 2003 -- Thanks to help of Irene Wong, the inaugural season of the Dream League Women's division is set to start two Sundays from now on June 15th! The Dream League would also like to thank Joyce Dowling for her help.
THE SEASON SCHEDULE IS NOW READY -- SCROLL DOWN! Note that we are playing makeup games 6/15 and 6/22 for those teams that will be absent during certain weeks in the future such as 7/20 and 9/7. Check your team's game times carefully. If you want to make a change in your team's schedule, see Section 1(j) of the Rules & Regulations for instructions on how to do so.
THIS SUNDAY 6/15, PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE GYM 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST GAME TO SIGN WAIVER FORMS. Parking can be prohibitive near the gym, please budget enough time to park. If no street parking is available, park at the $2 Kezar lot on Stanyan and Waller, then walk 2 blocks toward Oak/Fell to the gym on 1950 Page Street.
ONLY REGISTERED PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY. BRING THE FOLLOWING TO YOUR FIRST GAME:
(1) Registration payment, if you have not already done so
(2) Reversible, numbered jersey
(3) Women's basketball
(4) General understanding of WNBA rules
(5) Patience and understanding, since the first 3 weeks are always hectic!!
HIGH-LEVEL WNBA RULES:
Unfortunately our webmaster is currently getting married, so don't expect the Rules & Regulations to be updated with Women's League rules anytime soon, but please read it to get a feel for how we run things.
Similar to the format of the WNBA, we will utilize two 20-minute halves and a 30-second shot clock. The clock will only stop on the following:
- Timeouts
- Free throws
- Last 10 seconds of each half: made basket or whistle
- Last 2:00 of 2nd half
