Driven (SF) 72, Bomb Squad (SF) 50

Caiola and Margate Lead 2nd Half Charge for Driven

December 16, 2006

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- Driven's point-shooting guard Sean Caiola (#4) scored 14 of his 21 points and captain power forward Sunny Margate (#0) 14 of his 20 in the 2nd half, overcoming 13 points by Bomb Squad's Rome Olmpiada (#8) in the first half, as Driven turned a 25-28 halftime deficit into a 72-50 romp.

Bomb Squad committed 10 of their 17 turnovers in the decisive 3rd quarter. Rob Cuenca (#50) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in defeat.

Due to gym limitations, the game was held at the third home of Dream League's 2006-07 Fall/Winter season, in Redwood City.

With the loss, Bomb Squad dropped to 0-2 and, based on point differentials in games lost (since there are no victories in which to calculate the NFL's "strength-of-victory" tiebreaker, which has been adopted by Dream League), became the 8th seed out of 9 teams.

However, with Ballerz, Inc. forfeited their play-in game of #9 vs #8, Bomb Squad advanced to the Consolation bracket, which they would eventually win.

Driven finished pool play at 2-0, guaranteeing them a spot in the upper bracket Final Four double-elimination playoffs on Sunday.

From point differentials, Driven finished slightly behind Shootout, the #2 seed. So the two teams would face each other in the first round of the double-elimination Final Four.
