Piston Hondas 52, Aball 47

Aball Can't Find an Answer to Nolasco as Piston Hondas Win Championship

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- The Piston Hondas wrapped up their dominating championship run as the 6'0" Jerome Nolasco torched Aball for 21 points on 5-for-8 from downtown.

The undersized Aball had no answer for Nolasco, but still was within striking distance going into the 4th quarter and the game tied 40-40. Aball had come out strong, starting 5-for-5 with Mark Fang tallying 9 of Aball's 15 first quarter points. Nolasco continued to hit from beyond the arc in the 2nd, but the Piston Hondas were only up by 3 heading into halftime as Kelvin Yip missed 5 field goals in the 2nd period and Aball didn't score until a pair of free throws by Dave Yoo with 4:27 to go until halftime.

It was pretty close from there on out, except that Aball's leading scorer, Mark Fang couldn't get anything to drop with the Piston Hondas playing good defense. Fang finished with 17 points, but shot just 1-for-7 in the 2nd half and 1-for-5 from the free-throw line all told. The Aball frontline of Doug Murai, Wontae Kim, and Josh Lim couldn't connect either, combining to go 0-for-4 down the stretch after a strong 3rd period.

The Piston Hondas played without their leading scorer, Howie Dee.
