Hustlers Step Up but Can't Quite Catchup with Haynes

April 30, 2006

OAKLAND, CA -- Even though no Hustler was averaging double-digits in scoring or rebounding, five of the Hustlers' players stepped up big time, with Kent Lam and Richard Luu recording double-doubles and Oliver Wang missing another double-double by 1 point. But the Hustlers could not contain FAO's Kevin Haynes in critical moments. He torched the Hustlers out of the gate with 12 of his 29 points, then added 9 more after halftime to give FAO enough of a cushion to withstand the Hustlers' comeback.

Game Notes: In one of the Hustlers' best games of the season despite the loss, they committed just 9 turnovers...However, shooting from their 6th and 7th players was atrocious, as Quanen Lam and Henry Nghe combined to go 1-for-15...Long Tran started out just 1-for-11 from three-point land, eventually going 4-for-18...Haynes shot a remarkable 11-for-17 from the field and 5-for-8 from downtown...Jimmy Lee missed a double-double by 1 rebound, but went 0-for-6 from downtown and committed a team-high 4 turnovers...Felix Wong stepped up with 10 rebounds.
