Deepesh Patel's Energy Propels Gujus to Final Three

April 23, 2006

OAKLAND, CA -- Fists Of Gujus forward Deepesh Patel was full of energy and scrapped for offensive rebounds, helping his team advance to the Final Three, where the last Losers Bracket game will occur and the winner will then play against the Outlawz. Jinesh Patel and Manish Dalal hit some big three pointers, early and late, respectively. Dalal especially to open up the 4th quarter.

Free-throw shooting hurt the ShotCallers. They only made 2 of 8 in the 4th quarter, and 7 of 18 overall.

The Gujus got out to an early lead, a lot of it due to Deepesh Patel's energy, but the ShotCallers made a comeback, outscoring the Gujus in the 2nd quarter to take the lead. The ShotCallers went to their big man, Albert Subandhi early, but in the 2nd half, he started to jack up more treys, only making 1 of 5 in the 2nd half (2-for-3 in the 3rd, 0-for-2 in the 4th).

Shotcallers were forced to foul late in the 4th, but Gujus made their shots, hitting 7 of 8 free throws to close out the game.
