Lite 57, Under 48: Huy Nguyen (L) 11 pts 13 reb, Le Shang Lin 13 pts on 3 treys, nuff said. Allan Kwong (U) 11 pts 6 reb 3 stl, but Victor Le only 3-for-8 from downtown, not enough firepower to keep up as Lite pulled away in 4th. The fact that Under hung with 8-0 Lite thru 3 quarters is a good sign for them going into the playoffs. Kurr 60, Sqad 56: Rod Campbell 44 pts 12 reb 2 blk 10-for-25 from downtown, making strong case for MVP, leading Kurr to 21-10 4th quarter comeback. Sqad too busy with extra-curriculars, did not focus on closing out game and controlling tempo, gave up 5 treys to Campbell in 4th alone. O.Saechao led Sqad with 23 pts and cut thru Kurr perimeter at will, but shot Sqad out of it in 4th with 1-for-7 from field that quarter. Shows potential yet inexperience of Sqad. Mana 56, WCB 46: Boun Khamnouane 5-for-9 treys in 1st half all she wrote, ended with 18 pts 6 ast. Mike Huang added 14 pts 6 reb 2 blk, Shane Char 19 pts 14 reb 6 ast. RJ tough day at office for WCB, going just 8-for-27, including ugly 4-for-13 4th quarter. Still collected 23 pts 8 reb 7 stl, but committed 5 turnovers. 4/2 Previews Last vs Life: Life already clinched Southwest #1 seed due to head-to-heads over Sqad and Under...Leading scorer and rebounder Kevin Cheng out for Life, should be even under glass for this one. Manatees vs WCB: Manatees need win to avoid #8 or #9 overall seed, both of which will play play-in game which means doubleheader to advance in Round 1...WCB in same boat, will get leapfrogged if lose to Manatees. Sqad vs Kurr: Sqad cannot overtake Life, but need moral victory to prove they can hang with 6FT elite teams such as Kurr. Under vs Lite: Under needs to prove it can beat Lite heading into playoffs. PLAYOFF OUTLOOK: 4/2 really a battle of cellar dwellers to avoid play-in doubleheader 4/9...Conference winners don't change seedings, so it's still Under vs Sqad, Lifeline locked at #3 (lost head-to-head to Kurr), Kurr locked in at #2, 510 Lite locked at #1...With straightforward draws, comes down to survival of the fittest. |
