TUE 5/18 (11:45PM) -- Bay Hype ran the table and finished 11-0 to capture the A/R-SF championship. Along the way, we also saw the return of Full Tilt, a team that spent two difficult seasons up at the AAA-Premier level. In the interim, the AAA-REC division definitely got a little stronger, as evidenced by teams such as P2W, which finished the regular season at 6-1 and got as high as 8-1 at one point. So, next season with the AAA-REC being an "invite-only" or "outcasts" division, you can probably expect to see Bay Hype moved up...  Here's the completed bracket...  Playoff brackets for A/R-SF WED 5/12 (1:00AM) -- No changes. Got the Final Three on 5/16, with Tilt/P2W then the winner vs Bay Hype. Should Bay Hype lose, we come back with a Repeat Championship on 5/23. TUE 5/4 (12:15PM) -- Like some of the other divisions, we have the flexibility right now to have 5/9 off for Mothers Day, and since I'm pretty sure people want that, I'm going to assume all three remaining teams want the 5/9 and pickup where we left off the next week 5/16, with a potential Repeat Championship if needed (due to the double-elim format) on 5/23...  TUE 4/27 (11:30PM) -- Here's the latest and greatest. The Wolverines lost and only had single-elim, so they're out. Other than that, pretty straightforward. I just realized that with the Repeat Championship currently listed at 5/16, we can actually push that back to 5/23 and take 5/9 off for Mothers Day. Remember, 5/30 is a national holiday and the week after that we are planning to start the new league. So, I'll fix the brackets next week to reflect the 5/9 holiday. Signups for the next season will go up very soon.  WED 4/21 (8:30PM) -- Here's the playoff bracket for 4/25 and onward. I won't be updating the roadmap below unless absolutely necesssary, so use this bracket as your roadmap. You can see that there's one section of the remaining Losers Bracket that we don't know about yet -- that's in case the Wolverines keep winning and force an extra double-elim team down there. Other than that, it's pretty straightforward... 
WED 4/14 (12:45PM) -- Let's get right to it. Here are the seeds for playoffs starting 4/18... 1. Bay Hype A/R (7-0) -- won Western Conference 2. P2W (6-1) -- won Eastern Conference 3. SFFD (4-3) -- won head-to-head vs Tilt, won head-to-head vs ThTm 4. The Team (4-3) -- lost head-to-head vs SFFD, won head-to-head vs Tilt 5. Full Tilt (4-3) -- lost head-to-head vs SFFD, lost head-to-head vs ThTm 6. Wolverines AAA (3-4) 7. Agent X (2-5) -- won head-to-head vs Dunj 8. Dunjoz (2-5) -- lost head-to-head vs AgtX, won head-to-head vs Frbz 9. Fireballerz (2-5) -- lost head-to-head vs Dunj 10. Omegas (1-6) Here's one reason why I love splitting divisions into conferences: the tiebreaker determinations are so much easier. We model it after the NFL wildcard rules, since we are most similar to a 16-game NFL season than any other major sport. In that realm, you figure out who is stronger in your group before comparing outside. Therefore, you look at the tied teams within our conferences first. So with SFFD vs Full Tilt, we figured out that SFFD was stronger. Then we compare them the The Team. We found out that SFFD was stronger than The Team, so then The Team next gets compared to Full Tilt. Similarly, we found out first that Dunjoz was stronger than Fireballerz. This means Fireballerz cannot finish higher than Dunjoz. Then we compare Agent X to Dunjoz and found out that Agent X was higher. There is no need to check Agent X vs Fireballerz. Therefore, we have these matchups for the first round. Remember, you have double-elim status if you finished 4-3 or better, only single-elimination (one-and-done) if you finished 3-4 or worse... playoffs1a: #9 Fireballerz at #8 Dunjoz playoffs1a: #10 Omegas at #7 Agent X playoffs1b: Winner-Frbz/Dunj at #1 Bay Hype A/R playoffs1b: Winner-Omeg/AgtX at #2 P2W playoffs1: #6 Wolverines AAA at #3 SFFD playoffs1: #5 Full Tilt at #4 The Team #10 thru #7 are all subject to a doubleheader this weekend because it serves as a reward to the #1 and #2 seeds earned. THU 3/18 (10:45PM) -- The standings to the left are really screwed up, but I decided to post them anyways. SMH. Don't bother emailing me, I've got my keystone cops working on it. THU 3/11 (12:45PM) -- Well, both The Team and Bay Hype asked for a bye for this Sun 3/14, so I had to do the Curly Shuffle. And this is best told with the eventual roadmap table. WED 3/10 (11:59PM) -- There are ten teams in the A/R-SF, now with the addition of P2W from the AAA-SFP (they signed up for the wrong division). Because we are adding them after the fact, we already have two makeup games as we approach Week #3: Fireballerz at P2W and Agent X at P2W. But first, I need to figure out the situation with Easter 4/4. After that is determined, we can figure out when to make up these games. So we will divide the 10 teams into two conferences... EASTERN CONFERENCE Wolverines AAA Agent X The Team P2W Omegas WESTERN CONFERENCE Bay Hype A/R Dunjoz Full Tilt Fireballerz SFFD ...and each team in a conference will play the other intra-conference teams once for 4 games, but each week, that leaves one Eastern team and one Western team, who will play against each other. So we'll end up with 5 regular season games after 5 weeks, with 1 of them being against the other conference, sort of in a random fashion. Then, the 6th regular season game will be exclusively cross-conference, based on standings. We do it again, not repeating any of the previous cross-conference matchups, and there we have 7 regular season games, all against different teams -- or so the theory goes. There's 10 teams, 9 other teams than yours, 7 regular season games, so you'll end up not playing 2 other teams. This should work.
