Near-final Rumor Mill lists
WED 3/3 (3:15PM) -- Updated A/R-SJ new team and A/R-SF Fireballerz volunteering to be the 9th odd team out... (2:45PM) -- Here are the division-by-division outlooks (i.e., guesstimates prior to posting the actual roadmaps)... More info
WED 3/3 (12:45PM) -- Still not totally final because of the delinquent teams mentioned on the homepage. You can tell by the ones that have blank in the PAID column or are underpaid ($200 needed before the first game). I will soon post division-by-division probable roadmap landscapes.
TUE 3/2 (8:45AM) -- There is only one more revision to go. You can see that there are a handful of teams not paid yet. We'll see what happens with them. Also, Rhino will move back to A/R-SJ from 6FT-SJ and there will be an A/R-SJ free agent team. I forgot to change that and it's a real pain to post this Rumor Mill, so I'll save that for the final revision.
Latest revision, scheduling for 2/28 begins
THU 2/25 (9:00AM) -- Scroll down to the table below and please read the previous posts. Here's some more notes, but I haven't looked at the Make Special Request page yet. Anything I say below is PROBABLE -- not set in stone, do not make final plans based on them yet...
- 6FT-SFP: With 11 teams and J.Qiu's team not paid but M.Usis pending for this morning, it looks like I'll force a bye on J.Qiu's team and everyone else will play.
- 6FT-SJ: 16 teams. SJ Barons wanted a bye (need to doublecheck this), so I'll pick a random team to also sit. Probably P.Su's team since he wanted to scorekeep for funds.
- A/R-OAK: 14 teams, 2 of them haven't paid, those two are likely to get a bye and be made up with a doubleheader.
- A/R-SF: 8 teams, all paid. THANKS!!
- A/R-SJ: 5 teams. Already in discussion with captains as to who takes the bye.
- AAA-E: 9 teams. Either Prodigy or Poorcats would move out (maybe). That means either team could get a bye, most likely Poorcats assuming Prodigy stays.
- AAA-O/AL: Looks like 8 teams combined. I'll start 2 of the 3 teams signed up for AAA-O (probably BSB in Oakland sits), which will afford them a bye later this season.
- AAA-OAK: 8 teams, all paid. THANKS!!
- AAA-SFP: 7 teams, all paid. Probably the odd team out would be the Underdawgz, since they paid last.
- AAA-SJ: 6 teams, all paid. THANKS!!
- A.L.: see AAA-O/AL above.
- AL-O/N.L.: 8 teams combined. Might only start Trybe vs Blazers in Oakland. Everyone else has issues for 2/28.
- REC-OAK: No word back from 2 teams, so we have 22. All of them paid, so we're good.
- REC-SF: 7 teams, so I have to pick an odd team out. Probably will be Will Cheung's team with a bye since they said it was okay to start 3/7.
Remember, though, per our rules/FAQs, we don't really have any byes. If your division has an odd number of teams, then most likely one team will take a bye every week, and at that point we are happy to take your requests. But in general, there aren't any byes.

(1:45PM) -- Halfway done with marking all the paid teams. I'll wait until 100% done until posting the updated Rumor Mill, though. I hope to be done no later than 3pm today. If anyone has a magical way of tying Google Checkout into any other database, please let me know. This is very tiring!
WED 2/24 (8:30AM) -- Scroll down to the table below for the latest and greatest. You should check...
- ...to make sure your team is on there. Best to do a Ctrl-F browser find on your captain's last name or team name.
- ...that you are in the right division!
- ...that your tipoff timeframe is correct
- ...with your captain to ensure that your team has paid the franchise fee minimums (I am updating the Paid column as we speak).

What's going on with each division
WED 2/24 (8:30AM) -- More updates below... TUE 2/23 (11:45AM) -- Here are some updates...
N.L. and AL-O: The top divisions are always the hardest to launch because it's kinda hard to always get the elite players and teams rolling. Just be patient. Worst-case: delay until 3/7. Best case: only some teams start on 2/28, which will probably afford them a bye later in the season. BY NO MEANS AM I ENCOURAGING CAPTAINS TO TAKE LONGER TO PAY -- I WILL CUT THE SEASON SHORTER TO 6 GAMES IF THERE ARE TEAMS THAT SAY THAT ARE PAYING AND DO NOT COME THROUGH.
AL, AAA-E, and AAA-O: I'll probably merge AAA-O and AL again. Still trying to figure this out. This one's hard, too. Not sure if we have enough teams to combine this way or that way. Kind of the same issues at NL.
AAA-P, AAA-6FT, AAA-REC, and REC: We will definitely start this Sun 2/28. Nomenclature: With AAA-Premier, sometimes I just lop off the end of it and tack on the location, if there are enough teams in that location to form a league (usually we'd like to have a minimum of 6 teams). So, you will see name changes to AAA-OAK or AAA-SFP (meaning SF and Peninsula). Same with AAA-6FT: I lop off the "AAA" and add the location so it's "6FT-OAK" or "6FT-SFP". If it's "6FT-OSF", that means we have to combine the Oakland with SF to form a league with enough teams. And with "AAA-REC", I use the abbreviation "A/R".
6FT-SJ: As of this writing, I'm thinking of just going with a massive division and then dividing up the playoffs, but please have your captain indicate if your team would rather play in an Upper or Lower 6FT division if we had to split it. See also A/R-SJ below. We have maybe 16 teams, I think. I've asked all captains if they'd like to be in an Upper or Lower split if I had to split it. I'm not sure I will. I'm leaning more towards just having separate, playoff divisions. This would be like the NBA inviting all non-playoff teams into a separate playoffs (they should, if there weren't economical/traditional factors!).
A/R-SJ: There may only be 5 teams. I usually like to have at least 6 per league. But all is not lost. While not having players over 6'0", 6FT-SJ tends to be quite competitive to the point where some may be comparable to A/R-SJ which has players over 6'0". Only time will tell. So what I could do is have the first 6 games out of 7 be against just A/R-SJ, of course, but then for the 7th and last regular season game, find out which 6FT-SJ teams are comparable (and it probably wouldn't be the worst 6FT-SJ teams, but more like slightly below .500, we'll see) and have them play against the 5 A/R-SJ teams. Based on the results, we may or may not add, say, 3 more below-.500 6FT-SJ teams to the 5, yielding an 8-team playoffs.
REC-OAK: We have maybe 20 teams, so I've asked captains the same as with 6FT-SJ: Upper or Lower, if we needed to. We'll just have to see. Decision will be made in 24 hours. To-do items:
- Update the Rumor Mill with new registrations.
- Update the Rumor Mill with those who have paid or not.
- Split the Rumor Mill into various divisions, so it's easier to read. Although these will probably go into their own separate pages linked on the homepages.
- Start scheduling Sun 2/28 based on the Rumor Mill lists.
Don't be surprised if the schedule doesn't go up until Friday morning. Btw, the schedule will go on a separate page linked from the SEASON homepage.
