AAA-P Cheep Thoughts from 5/18

6/6/2008 8:00AM

Remember Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey from Saturday Night Live? Well, here's the Bay Area dreamleague's weekly version: Cheep Thoughts. A collection of my thoughts on each game as I go thru the scoresheets and post scores on the website. One-plus minute per game multipled by about 45-50 games and I can knock this beast out in an hour -- yeah right, it always ends up being double. The idea here is that I do not spend hours upon hours of time coming up with game articles...

AAA-P: Bulldogs with a 62-60 squeaker over Richmond Wolfpack. Henry Chhiv with 20. Steven Kham with 17 in the loss. The Bulldogs' Son Vo hit a big shot with 33 seconds left to go up 61-60, then Wolfpack could not fire back with 10.4 left, down 60-61... Mad Cow blasted Team Dynasty, 71-46. The Chinese Ginobili, Kevin Ruan scored 23 points, 19 in the first half. Ruan may leave for the homeland soon, so that's a lot of points that Mad Cow will be missing in the playoffs. Singo Watabe added 22. Francis Diaz led TDyn with 18 points... The TL Bombers beat BTR, 60-49. The somewhat newly transformed TLB, now with a center/anchor in Steve Chow, had balanced scoreing with Mike Siv leading with 11. Kevin Wong led BTR with 20... The Elephants defeated Frosh Tryouts, 61-50. Boun Khamnouane hit 7 treys for 21 points, but Mike Hoang closed things out with 6-for-8 from the charity stripe in the 4th quarter, totaling 12 points, all in the 2nd half. Hoang also tallied 8 assists. James Aragon had a strong start for Frosh with 13 points in the first half, but mustered only 4 points in the 2nd... The Viewpoint Veggies held off the Multiple Scoregasms, 34-31. Sean Fong with 11 points. George Morris with 12 points in defeat... In that dreaded game in which Uriah Sofeni lost his cool, allegedly assaulted the ref who was also the gym director, which led to my expulsion of The Team, which as of this writing still has all its players banned from dreamleague indefinitely, TheOcho officially gets the win with the score 51-30. Safi Mojadiddi with 15 points, 5 assists to lead the effort. Obviously, I am in no mood to even look at the The Team's stats... City Select up-ended Visual Basic, 44-38. J.Munoz with 14 points. Quoc Huynh with 13 in the loss... Lightspeed defeated the SJ Barons, 51-40. Only got partial names on the scoresheet for Lightspeed. Phil Jaw led the SJB with 18, with Jack Tran adding 12 boards... Tyler Campbell scored 15 points as the SJ Monstarz took care of business against Bomb Squad, 60-48. In the loss, big man Mike Singh scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Chris Magat also tallied 14 points.
