AAA-P Cheep Thoughts from 4/20

4/23/2008 4:30PM

Remember Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey from Saturday Night Live? Well, here's the Bay Area dreamleague's weekly version: Cheep Thoughts. A collection of my thoughts on each game as I go thru the scoresheets and post scores on the website. One-plus minute per game multipled by about 45-50 games and I can knock this beast out in an hour -- yeah right, it always ends up being double. The idea here is that I do not spend hours upon hours of time coming up with game articles...

AAA-P: Huge win for Frosh Tryouts in a 50-49 nailbiter over the tough Warriors squad. James Aragon finally hitting paydirt with 4 treys and 24 points... Lightspeed no match for TheOcho, which won 78-47. Safi Mojadidi with 7 treys on 10-for-15 shooting for 31 total points... The SJ Monstarz monstered the Barons, 57-38. Again, the entire Monstarz roster played a role. Bryan Takahara with 13 rebounds. Jack Tran led the Barons with 19 points... After a couple of disappointing seasons in the AL-P, the newly depleted yet revamped Team Dynasty is clicking in the AAA-P, especially on the backs of Francis Diaz, who posted 15 points in the 4th quarter alone, en route to a 66-61 victory over the Richmond Wolfpack. Diaz had an incredible 38 points on 14-for-26 from the floor, 6-for-9 from downtown. Jimy Manivanh led Wolfpack with 15 and Daniel Flores pulled down 13 rebounds, although he was just 1-for-10 from the field... The Elephants defeated Multiple Scoregasms, 51-44. Boun Khamnouane with 15 points, all on treys... Tyler Chin with the deciding buckets and 17 points to help lead Grey Goose to a 43-42 win over City Select.

STANDINGS WATCH: Let's look at our Southeast and Northeast again:

NORTHEAST
5-0 Rising Stars
5-1 Team Dynasty
3-2 Mad Cow
2-3 Elephants
1-5 Grey Goose

SOUTHEAST
4-1 Bulldogs
3-2 Richmond Wolfpack
2-4 Multiple Scoregasms
1-4 City Select
1-4 Viewpoint Vegetables

On 4/27, we get those exciting cross-conference matchups based on standings again, except for the Pacific and Southwest which finish out their round robins. Also, we won't matchup the same teams as last week. The Bulldogs had a forced matchup vs Mad Cow and the same thing with Viewpoint and Rising Stars, along with Grey Goose and Multiple Scoregasms, therefore we matchup based on standings and non-repeats. That means the Rising Stars play againts the Bulldogs. Team Dynasty already played against Richmond Wolfpack and with Multiple idle, Team Dynasty now draws the Viewpoint Veggies, which are ahead of City Select based on the head-to-head tiebreaker. Not a good draw for the Veggies, but that's what happens when you have to force teams to face each other in order to create byes earlier on in the season. That leaves City Select at the Elephants.
