#1 Seeds Go To Winners Bracket Showdown |

| APRIL 26, 2006 -- Both the North and South #1 seeds, the Piston Hondas and Ryusei, made it to the Winners Bracket showdown this Sunday 4/30. The Piston Hondas had the better regular season record and will have homecourt advantage at PHRC. In the Losers Bracket, a doubleheader is in store so that we end up with the Final Three on 5/7, two of which will be the Piston Hondas and Ryusei. Curiously, we cannot matchup the games in terms of inter-conference diversity because Aball has already played against Up In Smoke and SFFD against Skillz That Killz in these playoffs. Keeping such matchups would somewhat render the first matchup irrelevant, so we re-match them as follows: Aball vs Skillz That Killz and SFFD vs Up In Smoke. Because Up In Smoke had the best regular season record heading into the playoffs, they get the homecourt. To figure out the homecourt of the doubleheader, we must give the homecourt to the highest seed just in case they win, which is PHRC for Up In Smoke. And because the winner of Aball vs Skillz That Killz moves on to possibly face Up In Smoke, both games must be played at PHRC (it's logistically easier that way). |
